Elly Mackay is an author-illustrator and diorama artist creating nature based picture books filled with wonder, atmosphere and light. From her studio near Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada, she builds intricate handmade paper worlds, then transforms them through theatrical lighting and photography into luminous illustrations. Her stories invite children to slow down, look closely, and discover the magic in our natural world.

Elly has over 20 published picture books and has done covers for books such as the Anne of Green Gables series for Penguin Random House Canada.
